The truck was running perfectly fine but I was noticing a bit of a misfire under load. At idle and part throttle there was no noticeable misfire, only when I had my foot into it that I could notice it.
Pulled the old plugs and WOW no wonder it was sputtering. Took it out for a rip after the new plugs were in and what a difference $30 bucks worth of plugs can do.

I think my truck needs plugs, it has a bit of a chunky idle and its a bit sluggish when I mash on it in 5th. When I first got it, it would punch you in the gut in every gear

pitter patter better gat at her. Not a very hard job I’m sure you can handle it. You’ll love yourself for it after the fact.

New wires wouldn’t be the worst thing either if they look too old.

Ya I know it’s pretty easy, im just procrastinating. I have to replace the windshield and struts first. And my bug shield is about ready to fly off, its cracking

As an old guy at my shop would say, “tatamen chet!”
Roughly translated, he is trying to say “goddammit shit” in the best English he can lol

I’m not sure I’ll have to check. I think its an electronic choke tho

Same with a cap and rotor

Heck, he could probably find an electronic distributor pretty cheap for a 350. I don’t think I’ve ever left points in my cars

‘86 is well into the HEI years. It’s probably a computer controlled Q-Jet and distributor.

Pfft, at least yours weren’t covered in oil that you casually ignored as you put in the new ones!.... >.>

I’d get plugs done sooner rather than later. It’s a cheap fix (maybe $30 for six decent plugs or $60 for some nicer ones) and they’re pretty necessary.

I’ve always kind of wondered about this - so long as they create a decent spark, is there much of a difference?

my experience is Champion don’t tend to last as long.
